Of course not! When you have friends and family over, you want to be able to show off your place with pride. So how do you make it feel more like “you”? How can you turn your house into your home?
Well, you can start by building your own furniture and decorating that furniture to truly personalize your space. Have a look at how this man transformed a plain dining room table into a work of art.
He started by building a relatively simple pine wood table.
To spice it up, he printed out a large world map, placed it on some graphite transfer paper, and put it on the table.
Next, he began tracing the countries onto the table so he would have an outline to color in.
Painting the edges black drew the eye inward.
Then he began filling in the land masses with black paint.
Once he finished the painting, he stained the table and added some layers of polyurethane.
The finished product looks like something you’d buy in a catalog.
