Get Ready for Elle’s High School Days!
Reese Witherspoon has exciting news for all the Legally Blonde fans out there! Get this: she’s making a prequel series about Elle Woods’ life before Harvard Law. The best part? They’re holding an open casting call for young Elle!
From Teenager to Legal Eagle
The new series, simply titled Elle, will take us back to Elle’s high school years. Imagine all the pink outfits and chihuahua shenanigans! The show wants to explore what made Elle the confident, go-getter we know and love from the original movie.
Reese announced the casting call on Instagram with a fun video. She’s teaming up with her company, Hello Sunshine, and Amazon Prime Video to bring the series to life. And talk about a talented crew! Laura Kittrell, who worked on shows like Insecure and High School, is the showrunner. Reese will be an executive producer, along with other big names in the industry.
Remember how huge the first Legally Blonde was back in 2001? It made a ton of money and even got nominated for two Golden Globe awards! Then came the sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, and a Broadway musical. People just can’t get enough of Elle! There’s even a third movie in the works, co-written by the hilarious Mindy Kaling.
Although the third film was supposed to come out in 2020, it’s still being developed. Reese wants to make sure it’s just as amazing as other recent sequels like Top Gun: Maverick. Talk about high standards!
