It’s that time of year again. I remember it well: listening to people’s names I didn’t care about, sweating my everythingoff in what felt like a plastic gown, trying not to fall asleep or trip over myself when it was finally my name called. Yep, I’m talking about graduation.

But, there are a ton of other non-terrible graduation traditions too, like incredible parties, selfies with every person you ever met while at school and, of course, decorating the hell out of your graduation cap!

For some people, decorating their graduation caps is truly more of an art than a science. I mean, the things people think to put on their graduation caps.

I saw jokes, memes, TV and movie references — what is with the “SpongeBob SquarePants” references, graduates? — quotes, over-the-top decorations and more.

This must be the year of the SpongeBob, Drake or DJ Khaled graduation caps, or it’s the year to protest student loans, because a surprising number of caps jokingly referenced graduation debt in some way, shape or form.

Considering Americans owe more than a trillion dollars in student debt, I think these grads are right on the money.

BUT HEY! Graduation days are supposed to be happy ones, so forget about crippling student loan debt for just a second and check out some incredible graduation cap designs.
