Last week, Kanye West invaded my Twitter timeline and yours with his never-ending stream of consciousness, covering topics from Candace Owens to Emma Gonzalez, and sharing shots of his family, his house, and text conversations with John Legend.

Of course, it wasn’t the aphorisms and his meditations on love that helped Kanye break the internet, but the Trump of it all, with fans deploring the bad politics of one of the most influential living rappers. And while Kanye himself seems to have few regrets, his savvier wife Kim Kardashian understands the ramifications of going full Trump. We’ve seen Kim’s consternation play out in real time on Twitter, with Kanye tweeting at one point, “My wife just called me and she wanted me to make this clear to everyone. I don’t agree with everything Trump does. I don’t agree 100% with anyone but myself.”

During a much-hyped Monday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Kim described the horror of learning that her husband was back on his social media bullshit. “I didn’t even know he got his Twitter again until I started seeing tweets come in from other people like, retweeting them,” she told Ellen. “And I was like, ‘Wait, is this real?’ And then at night, he came in and was like, ‘Did you see my tweets?’ And I was like, ‘Yes, I did see your tweets.’ And I followed him back.” (Currently, Kanye West only follows Kim Kardashian on Twitter).

Kardashian seemed as confused as the rest of us about the deeper meaning of some of Kanye’s viral musings. DeGeneres asked what West meant when he wrote, “sometimes you have to get rid of everything,” to which Kardashian responded, “I don’t know!” She guessed that her husband was referring to his house rules of not checking phones early in the morning or when they’re home with the kids, offering, “I think he’s talking about cleansing?”

According to Kim, her interview with Ellen was taped last week—that explains why DeGeneres only asked about West’s slightly unhinged return to Twitter, as opposed to his fully unhinged recent political turn. However, Kardashian did provide insight into the man who’s launched a thousand think pieces (in the last week or so alone). Perhaps most tellingly, she revealed that their family home has no labels in it: “Water bottles have no labels, hand sanitizer—no labels.” She insisted, “We try to keep all of the crazy labels and everything hidden…Kanye’s never really liked labels and he kind of lives by that.”

A picture of their home, which Kanye shared against their rules in an attempt to prove that he isn’t in the sunken place, doesn’t feature any labels, and further corroborates Kim’s revelation that their decorating scheme is entirely “tones of white and cream.”

During a portion of the conversation dedicated to the birth of Kim and Kanye’s new daughter, Chicago, Kim let slip that Kanye was in an adjoining room while she and sister Kourtney watched the birth. “Kanye was in there playing Connect Four with his friends, not really paying attention,” Kardashian recalled. But to be fair, Kardashian later added, Connect Four is Kanye’s favorite game.

Kardashian also revealed that West wanted to name their daughter Donda, after his late mother, but she felt like that might be too much to live up to (also, it wasn’t “one syllable”). Instead they landed on Chicago, nicknamed Chi, because “that is a place that made [Kanye], and a place that he remembers his family from.” In addition to other random Kanye trivia (did you know that Kanye was the first person to wear denim to the Met Ball? Or that he hates red carpets?) Kardashian got in a little dig at Kanye’s expense. In the middle of telling Ellen about her son Saint’s intellect, she joked, “And I know it’s like such a Kanye thing to say, like, ‘Oh my kid’s a genius,’ but if I’m saying it then it’s real!”

Of course, with Kanye West taking meetings with Candace Owens and Trump retweeting the rapper, it’s easy to forget that the Kardashians were just recently in the midst of a cheating scandal. DeGeneres asked Kardashian, whose entire family has been uncharacteristically quiet about the recent news of Tristan Thompson’s infidelity, for her “opinion” on the revelation that Thompson was cheating on her very pregnant sister. Seemingly breaking the silence on behalf of Khloé, Kardashian emphasized that her sister just wants some time to be alone with her newborn daughter “and figure out what her next steps are.”

“It must be so hard to have your heart broken and fall in love all in a day or two,” Kardashian continued, refusing to give a clear answer on whether or not Khloé will try and mend her relationship with Thompson: “I think she just wants a clear head, and just wants to be alone with her baby and figure that out.”

While Kardashian insisted that she had made a rule not to talk shit “if there’s a baby involved,” presumably after all of that Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna drama, she admitted that the situation was “fucked up” and “really sad.” When DeGeneres asked if she liked Tristan Thompson before video leaked of him motor-boating a stranger, Kardashian took a pregnant pause before continuing, “I feel like Khloé always dives into relationships and puts her whole heart into everything. She moved there! And I’ve seen her be in a really tough situation before in her last relationship, and so I think just the family gets so emotionally invested in whoever each other is with, we treat them like family…We really were rooting for Khloé.”

Any further statements on Kardashian-world scandals or her husband’s MAGA social media were not in the cards for Kim Kardashian, who finished up the interview by advertising her latest perfume (the one that’s a perfect mold of her body). Perhaps to soften the blow of some of her comments, Kardashian tweeted at her 59.9 million Twitter followers on Monday afternoon, as the interview aired, “Twitter is such a bette[r] place with @kanyewest on here.”
