Looks like McDonalds doesnt understand that the most important component to any and all mozzarella sticks is… cheese.

Customers of the fast-food chain have been ordering the new item as a part of McDonalds McPick 2 promotion menu, only to find out their mozzarella sticks are lacking any actual mozzarella. Many of have understandably taken to Twitter to voice their disappointment with the new item, posting photos of hollow tubes without gooey, warm cheese inside.

Seriously, its a travesty: buying a container of mozzarella sticks you assume have cheese in them, then breaking them apart to find them totally empty. Fortunately, McDonalds is trying to fix their mistake, according to this statement to the Chicago Tribune:

We are aware of a low volume of guest concerns about our Mozzarella Cheese Sticks. In these instances, we believe the cheese melted out during the baking process in our kitchens and shouldn’t have been served. We apologize to any customers who may have been affected. We are working to fix this in our restaurants.

Well, at least youre considering making McGriddles an all-day breakfast menuso we cant be too mad at you, McDonalds. But come on.
