The Harry Potter series is a sensation. Orphaned by the evil Lord Voldemort as a baby, Harry’s transportation into the magical world of Hogwarts after 11 years living under the tyranny of the Dursleys captured the world’s imagination.

Penned by Scottish author J.K. Rowling in an Edinburgh café, the then penniless 25-year-old single mom had no idea that she’d struck gold when she thought of the idea on a train ride to London back in 1990. Now children around the world whole-heartedly hope that they will receive a letter from the magical school when they turn eleven years old, and for a lucky group of students in Oregon, that fantasy became a reality. Their teacher, Kyle Hubler, is a colossal Potterhead (yes, the Harry Potter fandom has a name), and he decided that there was nothing better he could do with his summer than spend 70 hours turning his classroom into Hogwarts. The lucky 7th grade students knew that they were in for a treat when they arrived back from their summer break and realized that their classroom door had been turned into the infamous Platform 9¾… Speaking to the Huffington Post about his incredible handiwork, Hubler said, “I love Harry Potter because of the impact it had on me as a kid. Being a kid can be tough sometimes – there were times when I felt weird and that I didn’t belong to any circle of friends, and reading the books was a way to escape that and feel like I did belong.” Without further ado, here’s what lay behind Platform 9¾… In case you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that Hogwarts is a castle, and to recreate the stonework of its interior Hubler papered the walls of his classroom with brick-like wallpaper. Because he’s a massive Potterhead, Hubler has a sizeable collection of Harry Potter memorabilia, and he put this to good use when decorating his classroom. He’s even sharing his books set in the Wizarding world too. The LED tea lights littered around Hubler’s desk are a wonderful, oh so magical touch, as is his incredible Hogwarts professor outfit. But that’s not all he did to make his classroom magical… There’s even a Pensieve, all the necessary balls for a fantastic game of Quidditch, and, obviously, the Sorting Hat. Hubler revealed that his incredible classroom was the result of not only his own collection, but finds he’d sought out for the transformation in yard sales and on Facebook, where he’d connected with other Potterheads. You’re probably wondering by now how the pupils reacted to their new Hogwarts-themed classroom, and it was exactly what you’d expect. “I heard audible gasps and saw jaws drop to the floor,” Hubler said. Hubler’s attention to detail is incredible, and he’s even created a common room for his pupils based on Hogwarts’ four houses. Hubler showed off his incredible creation in a now viral Facebook post that even includes a video of his classroom. It took him a total of 70 hours to complete, but he said that it was completely worth it. “Seeing their faces light up made all the time and effort put into this totally worth it! We’re going to have a fun year!” he wrote on Facebook. If Hogwarts secretly exists in real life, Hubler deserves to get hired.
