This is a great way to have a clean and fresh smelling toilet bowl.
It doesnt require much and the benefits of a clean, sanitary, and fresh scented bowl far outweigh the minimal effort this takes. Check out these homemade toilet cleaner tablets that will never have you worrying about a nasty looking or smelling bowl again!
Heres what you will need:
160 g Baking soda
60 ml Lemon juice
1/2 Tbsp Vinegar
1 Tbsp Hydrogen peroxide (3 %, from the pharmacy)
15-20 drops of fragrant oil
Heres how you do it:
First put baking soda in a bowl and put in the lemon juice
Mix up the hydrogen peroxide along with the vinegar in a small, separate bowl. Now combine with the baking powder mix. Now you want to add your fragrant oil of choice.
Take a spoon and make half-balls and put them on baking paper so they can dry. You can also do a half water, half vinegar mix to add to the toilet bowl as this can help the tabs stay together.
Allow the toilet tabs to dry overnight, or for at least 4 hours. When they are totally dry, put them in a glass air-tight jar and place them near your toilet for readily available use.
Simply drop in a tab once you sense that the toilet is starting to get a bit nasty looking or gnarly smelling.
While these guys take a little bit of time to make and extra time to dry, the payoff is definitely worth it as all you will have to do is drop a tab into the bowl for cleaning! These are actually much better for the water and the environment as a whole. Certainly a lot better than all the chemical cleaners out there.
